It's like... all in your head... man...

So... in this day and age we have certain laws preventing the consumption of certain chemicals that react with our brain chemistry in a way that causes us to see things differently, see things that are not actually there, and have "Spiritual" experiences. Of course, it wasn't in just the last few decades that we have had these substances that react in the ways they do with us, we have had them for a very, very long time. In fact, many religious leaders/ spiritual men are said to have taken these "drugs" and talk with their "God" or whatever.

Now here is the all important question we have to ask our selves... Do these drugs really need to be considered "illegal" in most countries? Well if they actually cause harm to the user, then of course they should be illegal for the peoples on safety. If that is true, then why is tobacco, something that kills hundreds of thousands each year, still legal? Or what about alcohol which has caused more harm to the public than many people have even realized. Not only does it contribute to car accidents, but many societal problems too such as domestic abuse and many others. If these things are so bad and the are legal for anyone of the right age, then why are these other substances illegal? Well it must be that they are much, MUCH more dangerous than cigarettes or alcohol... right? I wonder...

Little disclaimer here. In no way am I supporting or telling anyone that they should go out and do something that is illegal. What I am trying to do is ask people to take a step back and analyze why they are illegal. Critical thinking is a very important part of our society and I think that everyone should always question whether one way of thinking is right or wrong, because that is what pushes our society along. Questioning what should never be questioned. If we don't we will be stuck in the same situation we are in now for a very, very long time.

Anyways that is all.

  2. yo this is a long but good read. I agree that people should always question what they are told to do or what they are taught before blindly following them. Not just with drugs. Critical thinking is kind of going downhill especially in America imo because also the media and other stuff are not as focused on subjects that require critical thinking. All we got now is like jersey shore and rehashes of 90210. When we should be focused on these type of subjects

  5. Tobacco and alcohol companies have lots of money and lawyers so they can do whatever they want and get away with it.

    Money is power.

  6. Good point, I do some illegal things that don't hurt anybody, like smoking certain substances... etc. but seriously laws are made to be broken to finance the government, thats the way its always been

  7. I think the people who make these laws should experiment themselves before judging off preoconcepted ideas.

  8. These drugs allow most people to see the truth of how much of a slave they are in society. The government doesn't want that at all, hence why it's illegal :p

  16. First of all - great pic, made me laugh.
And yeah, got to agree there. Most of this stuff can be harmless if you don't overdo it, so why not legalize it and put some taxes on it?

  20. That is great question you're asking. I think some of these substances may be legalized in the future, perhaps. I mean, look how prohibition turned out.

  26. I often wondered the same thing... why are drugs that don't kill people, such as marijuana and LSD, illegal... while drugs that do, like tobacco and alcohol, legal? Very perplexing.
